Education Qualification:
i) A bachelor’s degree of any of the Universities established or incorporated by or under the Central or a State Act in India or any other educational institutions recognised as such or declared to be deemed as a University under the section 3 of the University Grants Commission act, 1956; (ii) The basic knowledge of computer application as prescribed in the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules 1967;

Preliminary Exam:-
The competitive examination shall comprise of two successice stages:- (A) Preliminery examination (objective type) for the selection of candidates for Main examination; and (B) Main Examination and interview Test for the selection of candidates for the post of Chief Officer, class-II. 1. Preliminary Examination- The preliminary Examination shall consist of one paper of objective type (Multiple Choice Questions) and carry a maximum of 150 total marks.
This examination is meant as a screening test only. The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examaination by the candidates, who are declared qualified for admission to the Main Examination (Written) shall not be counted for determining their final order of merit. The number of candidates to be allowed to appear at the Main Examination (Written) shall be about nine times the total approximate number of vacancies so advertised.
The candidate who is declared qualified in the preliminary Examination by the commission, shall only be eligible for admission to the Main Examination (Written), provided he/she is otherwise eligible under this rule foradmission to the Main Examination (Written).
The preliminary Examination shall consist of one paper of 150 marks as follows:-

NOTE: (i) The syllabus of the subject of Preliminary Examination shall be such as may be prescribed and notified by the Commission. (ii) The standard and the course content of the syllabus for General Studies subjects shall be of a degree level. (iii) The question paper shall be of objective type (Multiple Choice Question) in Gujarati and English Language.
2. Main Examination- (A) The Written test for the Main Examination shall consist of four papers. (B) The candidates who obtain such minimum qualifying marks as may be fixed by the Commission, in the written part of the Main Examination, shall be called for the Interview Test. The number of candidates to be called for the interview test shall be about thrice the number of vacancies so advertised. The interview Test shall carry 80 marks without any minimum qualifying marks. The marks obtained by the candidates in the written part of the Main Examination and the Interview Test shall determine their final ranking. The Scheme and subjects of Main Examination (Written) shall consist of the following papers:- Paper No 1 -Gujarati(Descriptive) 200 mark 3 Hours
2 English (Descriptive) 100 mark 3 Hours
3 General Studies-1 (Descriptive) 200 mark 3 Hours
4 General Studies-2 (Descriptive) 200 mark 3 Hours
Total 700 Marks
